Dear Mr.
Vogt,
As the recipient
of the 2002 Society of Flavor Chemists Scholarship through the
Institute of Food Technologists, I sincerely wish to thank you
and the Society of Flavor Chemists for sponsoring this award.
It is a great honor to be recognized for my achievements, my
dedication to flavor research, and for my commitment to involvement
in the Institute of Food Technologists by the professionals
in the Society of Flavor Chemistry.
My time
in graduate school at the University of Minnesota will be spent
under the guidance of Dr, Gary A. Reineccius in the area of
flavor chemistry. My Ph.D. research is on the encapsulation
and stabilization of flavors. This generous scholarship will
enhance my graduate education by providing opportunities that
otherwise would not have been possible. These opportunities
encompass a broad range of valuable learning tools and include
such activities as the purchasing of flavor chemistry and food
chemistry books, research supplies, travel and conference attendance.
In
my studies, research, extramural activities and entire life, I
strive to achieve the high standards that are required for a successful
career in the flavor industry. I am continually learning from
my academic, professional and personal experiences and I continue
to pursue excellence. It is an honor to be recognized for my pursuit
of excellence by the members of the Society of Flavor Chemists
and by the National Institute of Food Technologists as a whole.
I thank you for supporting this generous scholarship and I share
with you my promise that I will continue to pursue excellence
in my life. I again thank both you and the Society of Flavor Chemists
for your recognition and for sponsoring this generous financial
gift.
Sincerely,
|
